Since the film is 30 years old and therefore there
will hardly be any new stuff about it, several fans do their fun themselves.
First to mention the musicians
who thoughout the far too many years before the release of the OST did
not want to wait for a good CD or a nice videoclip.
Many femal fans appareantly dream of a Cinderella-style
wedding. Others perform the fairytale with
a whole riding school. A Norwegian fan
has even founded an internet-community
on LiveJournal.com. Not too many, yet, but still fans from across Germany
visit the Cinderella-Party, taking place each winter. And for
those hardened ones there are mobile-phone-pics
and 3nfc-ringtones.
The most
brilliant fans' activity until now has been the tremendous
wave of e-mails persuading Supraphon to release another, this time real
OST of our film. Great!!! Now we are trying
to get a better DVD...
We
are trying to convince Icestorm to try and get hold of the necessary
rights to release a new DVD with all dubbings ever done and some bonus
material. You could help us by

Cinderella
Weddings
With
giant strides the first generation of 3nfc-fans approach marriageable
age - if they have not married long ago and today watch their beloved
film together with their children.
But nowadays many people marry no earlier than in their
30ies and not few of them - admittedly mostly women - just once in their
life want to resemble their childhood's idol and dressed in a wonderful
robe dream of answering their fairytale-prince's question: "...and
mine, too - if you like to!?"
Not rarely a tailor-made dress is needed, as from one
of the below mentioned workshops, a fairytale location, like Sababurg
Castle or even Moritzburg Castle and - of course - the music! As we
know, this can not be bought in a sufficient quality, so that some take
a harp-duo or just play the slow
version of Thomas in the church. As Lothar did, who reports: "It
has been so moving, that tears tinkled down the bridegroom's (not the
bride's!) cheeks."
Because more and more couples are planning their fariytale-wedding
or recently had it I'd like to take this into account with this new
heading. I hope many more romantic examples will gather here!
As e.g. Crischanti's: "My sister is about to marry
in sumer of 2004 and that in a medieval style or like Cinderella. I'm
looking forward to it, because finally I can wear a robe :-)"
Also I am waiting for cologne couple's report. Moritzburg
Castle's manager told me, the bride in her beautiful dress strode up
the ramp leading to the Castle while the bridegroom was waiting for
her and finally handed over to her three hazelnuts.
Sigh! Beeing a confirmed bacheloresse, I have to think it over again,
I believe...

Stephanie:
"3nfc played a role on my wedding, too: I had to wear a
coronet. In the back you can see Philipsruh Castle near Hanau.
Now I am divorced, and after reading your fanpage, I persuaded
my boyfriend to watch 3nfc with me. First he thought I was childish,
but now we found another fan. Long live romanticism!" |

| Being a real 3nfc-fan,
you would not marry this way or another...
but like Silke from
Stuttgart: |
"I have got three brohters ans all
of them say for more than twenty years, that I am really "crazy"...
;-)
My wedding of course had to take place on a castle. (Unfortunately
this was called SLEEPING BEAUTY CASTLE SABABURG). I had looked
for Castle Moritzburg, but this was a little complicated... I
had looked for the original music by your homepage, but it was
not out yet :-(
So I engaged a harp duo ... This was nice, too. Another great
dream was the coach. Soooo beautiful, I am still totally happy,
for the rest of my life, I hope :-)) And then the dress... I let
myself inspire by Cinderella and got tailored a pink white wedding
dress by a really great medieval dressmaker... It still stands
on a dummy in our bedroom. Sigh!
Hope, you like it, was not quite the same as Cinderella's, but
I love this dress!!! I like "Nehelenia Design" to tailor
a pink cape for me, because I get married again with my beloved
in Ghana :-))
"La la la lala la lala la la..."
1000 greetings,
Silke"

 We
love 3gfc, but do we have to marry in a Renaissance-dress or while
riding a horse? Maybe even in winter?
It is enough to wear Cinderella's ball- and wedding-hairdress.
While in the movie you can recognize the false curls fairly well
these brides managed to get quite a good impression of it by using
only their natural hair!
Thank you, Kerstin and Sonja!

Of course marriage is not necessary. You can get
this wonderful style just without any lifetime-decision: On the
right Katja from Wales - dear user of this fanpage (greetings
to the island!) |

Filmcostumes

Because pieces are handmade unicates the fun has a price. But
it is worth it, as you can see on the picture of Silke's wedding!
Silke from Stuttgart (s.a.) married in a wedding dress by
I have been told of this tailor by other fans, too. Of course
not only 3nfc-costumes are made there, but also costumes of many
other films.
As well as in Sabine Pothmann's
workshop. This (German) website's author has been intweviewed
for TV and the German news magazines "Spiegel" and "Focus".
Here her apt foreword concerning the 3nfc-costumes (translated
by Kathrin Richter):
|
|

""Foreword...
I
hope, we all have the same opinion: This is mere fantasy
dressing. Because of many different characteristics (e.g.
queen's dress: elisabethian stand-up collar, slender waistline,
tight skirt, medieval "outer ears", parted skirt
in the front) it fits into all and no times. Fabrics partly
are that glittering, it looks like carnival (or worse).
Almost every cloth contains paisleys; if you look at the
film closely, you will recognize, that the same fabric
often appears on different costumes (what makes me come
to the conclusion: Here paisley-fabric has been bought
in bales). I can not guarantee to find "exactly"
the same cloth, but will try to find a fabric which really
resembles the original."

in the first place: Moritzburg
You can marry inside the baroque
chapel and after that celebrate the event, supplied by the caterer
resident in the castle, inside the so called "hall of monstrosities".
Supposedly not cheap, but very nice!
There is a (German) website about
this:
www.heiraten-in-moritzburg.de
sadly offering only very few information. Having had the idea
of marrying in Moritzburg Castle, you don't need to visit this
site.
Better call Standesamt Moritzburg:

| Three
Rides for Cinderella |
| On November 27th 2002 a kind invitation
of the spokeswoman of a riding school near Frankfurt/M reached me.
"...We are a riding cluib near Hanau (www.reitverein-sonnhof.de)
and year after year we perform a play within our christmas party.
This year we decides to persorm "Three Wishes for Cinderella"
as a "ridden fairytale-performance"..."
3nfc
with horses? Interesting idea. The play was announced on Sunday
afternoon, December 12th. And the next mail sounded promising:
"...Surely none of us is an actor, but we
take great trouble to fascinate especially the children in the audience.
Besides a christmas play like this is always an operation welding
everybody together. But actually this is not necessary in our club
- we just do it for fun. The 10pt children e.g. have made their
pigeons' costumes last weekend - just sweet. And the rehearsal of
the great quadrille has worked out quite well last time: 10 horeses/riders
"dancing" on the ball..."
Children in pidgeon-costumes and dancing horses? I
had to see this!
O dear, this fuss and nervousness! But the costumes
were terrific, the pigeons just cute and had even been put on loving
make-up. The hall filled with spectators. I couldn't wait to see
the play.
|
The light was put out, a spot lightened the storyteller and the play
began...
|
|
|
| "Cinderella lives with her bad stepmother
and has to do inferior work the whole day long, and her wicked stepsister
hardens her days." |
"Dora, the stepsister and the stepmother
hope to become acquainted with the young prince." |
|
|
|
| "But when the court arrives the
disappointment is huge, because the prince and his companions are
not with them." |
"But before the court goes on king
and queen invite the stepmother and Dora to the ball..." |
|
|
|
| "The pince robbed of his shot chases
Cinderella and takes her to task. But Cinderella is not at a loss
for an answer and can escape." |
The prince is kept by his teacher (played
by Andreas Gerbet, director of the riding school) from following Cinderella. |
|
|
|
| Cinderella has to sweep while Dora is trying
her ball-dress. |
The stepmother has gone shopping with Dora
and sprinkled peas on the floor for Cinderella. Fortunately the pigeons
help her. |
|
|
|
|
|
"From it she conjures up a hunting dress and a saddle for
her horse, so Cinderella can attend the royal horseplay."
|
"Meanwhile on the court preparations are made for the ball."
|
"After work Cinderella finds comfort
with Rosalie, who helps her again: From a magic nut comes a beautiful
ball-dress." |
|
|
|
"The ball starts."
horses' ballet
|
"When the prince on royal demand
is to begin the dance, he finds it hard to chose a dancer, because
none of them seems to fit to him." |
|
|
|
|
| "Fascinated by her charm and beauty
he asks for the dance and her hand." |
"She rides in and asks the prince
again about the riddle. and this time he can solve it." |
Sigh!! Unfortunately I could take no pictures of the cahrming and escpecially
romantic Pas de Deux Ann-Katrin Rogowski (Cinderella) and Jörg Versteegen
(Prince) performed after her fourtunate meeting with their horses Churchill
and Dressman. The lots of children kept silent for the moment and some
adults secretly wiped their eyes.
A thunderous applause had to wait until the two horses had left the hall.
Then the freezing audience let the actors know, how the play had pleased
them.
It has been just great...
